Experienced and Qualified
Protected Species Surveys
Torc Ecology has the necessary experience and expertise in surveying for protected species to undertake efficient/pragmatic surveys from which an impact assessment can be made.
Our surveyors apply suitable approaches and hold relevant survey licences from Natural England. All our surveys are carried out in accordance with current best practice guidelines. Sometimes referred to a 'Phase 2' surveys, the need for these will often be identified during the Preliminary Ecological Appraisal.

Licensing Strategies
Where protected species are present, we can advise on avoidance measures, mitigation requirements and licensing strategies where necessary. Our aim is to provide proportionate recommendations that satisfy planning and legislative requirements while helping projects progress as smoothly as possible.
Protected species surveys are often seasonally constrained, so early engagement can be critical to maintaining project timescales and avoiding unnecessary delays to planning applications and development programmes.
